When parliamentarians don't ride the industry's automotive decisions

The adoption of two automotive decisions by the Ministry of Industry and the Parliament in recent days was accompanied by many protests and concerns, and in the situation where the lack of foreign exchange resources was cited as the main reason for stopping imports, the reduction of the tariff and the forecast of the introduction of second-hand cars in the 1402 budget bill With the aim of organizing the market, it has surprised everyone.
Khodrocar - In a new circular, the customs recently announced a tariff of 6 to 31 percent on the import of various cars with an engine volume of 1,200 cc to 2,000 cc while their Life is less than 5 years.

These decisions, which according to the activists of this field, were unprofessional, but they have created a lot of confusion and fueled concerns. On the other hand, it is said that the reduction of the import tariff will be detrimental to the consumer since the car is sold in the commodity exchange and the difference is deposited into the government's account, and since the government is not willing to reduce its income in the act of consumption. The importer and the importer will be the main losers of this deal, and the rich profits of this process will go to the government's pockets instead of the dealers' pockets, and on the other hand, it is emphasized that the import of second-hand goods will have irreparable effects on the domestic consumer in the long run.

"In the past 5 to 10 years, the automobile industry has been troubled and dreams have been raised, but the actions taken were anti-development, the result of which is the market that exists now, and now, instead of learning from the facts and correcting the main issues, there are solutions. present that is more problematic." Amir Hossein Kakaei, expert of auto industry told khodrocar reporter.

"The recent decisions will not only not solve the current problem, but will cause damage to the industry and the economy, the damage of which all people must pay, he adds: the import of cars was stopped in the last 5 years due to the lack of foreign exchange resources, and this problem is still present. Not only that, but the government has accepted the 40 thousand tomans dollar, if the conditions were favorable, the dollar would have been in the price range of 28 thousand tomans, so in this situation, with the import of second-hand cars, the demand for foreign currency will increase, which will increase the price of the currency again. It will follow that eventually the general level of prices will rise." he said.

This auto industry expert continues: This decision, which was taken with the aim of improving the car market, will eventually lead to anxiety in other markets, but promises are made that in case of non-fulfillment, no one will have the right to protest and follow up, while In the end, people will be left with the effects of these unfortunate decisions.

Kakaei, stating that with the slogans that have been given before, the import of second-hand cars will never be accepted by anyone, he says: A country that claimed to develop and prosper and was supposed to become the largest power in the region in 1400 will not reach a place. to fall in love with second-hand foreign cars. We are now protesting the increase in the number of used cars in the country, and instead of better production, improving technology and removing obstacles to production, we are looking to import used European cars.

Referring to the proposal of importation of one million second-hand cars by the members of the parliament, he states: assuming that each car is worth 10 thousand dollars, a figure equivalent to 10 billion dollars is needed, and it is not clear where the source of this amount of currency is.

Meanwhile, domestically produced cars are currently monitored by the National Standards Organization, the Environmental Protection Organization and even the traffic police, and there is still dissatisfaction with this amount of care. Second, how will it be tested and reviewed and which institution will be responsible for reviewing it?

By raising the question of where the spare parts of these cars and also after-sales services will be provided, he states: Currently, despite the presence of reputable domestic car manufacturers, there are problems with the prices of the spare parts of these cars, now the spare parts of these cars are supposed to be Second, at what price and what service will it reach Iranian consumers, and if not, who should be responsible? If there was a tampered car among the imported cars, what will happen to this car?

Kakaei continues: The spare parts market was supposed to be organized this year, and with this situation, how can one proceed with the import of second-hand cars, so a car with a few years of operation will cause heavy damage to the country, and all these decisions are due to the destruction of the industry. Automobile and economy and non-fulfillment of the predicted promises, and now in this situation they are looking to import goods with foreign currency.

Stating that it is expected that 90% of the people will suffer a huge loss from this process, Kakaei states: "Perhaps 10% of the people will not have any financial problems, but it seems that the rest of this amount will face losses with these decisions." To be remembered in history.
